This is some charcoal work I did for my editorial illustration class. The article was halloween-themed & featured a haunted house called the Castle of Chaos. I created this character based on the newspaper article.

This is one of the first oil paintings I've ever done. I painted this when I was taking OAC advanced art in high school. It would be like Grade 13. (Ontario Academic Credit ~ entry-university classes.) I decided to use a reference from French Realist painter, Henri Fantin-Latour.
This is my version... I painted this... to see if I could... (& to practice techniques with oil paint.) I used sponges for the clouds. This is a stretched canvas approx. 12" x 16".

Fly in a shotglass.I get curious very easily...
One day I was walking past my vacuum cleaner... and this fly flew onto my knee. I decided to photograph him using different techniques and a lot of patience, but it was this black & white photo that I felt was the most dramatic.~ B.
